Write for us
Grand Daily Bulletin welcomes clear, original pitches about the objects people use, collect, make room for and remember. We are especially interested in a fresh question, a manageable scope and a reader who will come away noticing something differently.
Ideas that fit
Pitch a piece about an object, material, collecting habit, bit of design history or low-stakes making project. Useful formats include a focused explanation, a comparison with a real choice at stake, a myth examined with care, or a seasonal idea that does not rely on specialist equipment. Avoid pitches that need professional, legal, financial or safety-critical advice to be useful.
A strong pitch
Tell us the working idea, the main question, the likely reader and what makes your approach distinct. Include a short outline and note the sources or firsthand access the piece would need. Keep the focus narrow enough to answer well; a list of everything you know about a subject is not yet a story.
Send a proposal
Use the Contact page and select the editorial question option for your pitch. Please send a proposal rather than a completed article unless we have agreed otherwise. We cannot promise a response time or acceptance, and we do not treat an unsolicited submission as a commission.
Keep curiosity; lose the clutter
We think the best way to understand an object is to look closely, ask what it does, and stay open to changing your mind about keeping it.
